Minions Cupcake

Preparation Time = 20 mins         Cooking Time = 20 - 25 mins


Makes 12 cupcakes
  • 1 cup white sugar

  • 1/2 cup butter

  • 2 eggs

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1/2 cup milk

  • Minion blue cupcake liners


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).  Line a 12-muffin pan with paper liners.
  2. In a medium bowl, cream sugar and butter. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract. Combine sifted flour and baking powder, add to the creamed sugar and butter mixture and fold in well. Finally stir in the milk until batter is smooth. Pour or spoon batter evenly into the prepared Minion blue paper liners.
  3. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes. Cupcakes are done when they spring back to the touch.


1lb (approx. 3 3/4 cups) Powdered Sugar
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
3 to 4 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Mix together in a small bowl with a wooden spoon. If your frosting is too thick, then add some more milk and if it is too runny, then add some more powdered sugar.



Red, blue, yellow food dye
Mini white marshmallows
Brown M&Ms
Piping bag

Brown Frosting - Take a small amount of the frosting and place in a small bowl. Add droips of red, blue and yellow food dye until it is the right shade of brown.

Yellow Frosting - In the larger bowl of frosting, add yellow food dye.

Icing The Cupcake

Using a spatula knife, or a wide bladed knife, ice your cupcakes with the yellow frosting.

Decorating Minions

Place a mini marshmallow in the middle of your cupcake.

Put your brown frosting in to your piping bag and squeeze a little onto the marshmallow, then stick a brown M&M on top.

Then create the goggles by drawing a line from each side of the marshmallow to the outer side of the cupcake.

Finally, draw a little mouth for your minion.   Perfect, a minion is born!
